Did anyone else have Summer 2017 semester pop up in their Wolverine Access? Under the Application Status, it says that I applied for Summer 2017 on 12/19/16
No:/
^^
@profdad2021 Interesting to know about direct admit to engineering. Why then does Umich go through a different process for this year’s business applicant? Business applicants are admitted first to the University and then they don’t find out about direct admit to business school until months later. I don’t get it.
Honestly, I don’t really get it either! I’m just PRETTY sure that engineers go directly into engineering and their applications get a look, at least at the every end of the admissions process, by folks in engineering. For business -I’ve no clue! I’'ll just root for you for admissions first, then your choice major later!!
@khm1917 lol you probably selected the wrong start term on the common app or didn’t qualify for fall admission
No thats actually not how the system works. Application are viewed by admissions officers based on geographical location. So theres probably a committee for applicants from in-state, rest of US and then various continents
Will someone tell me if I am imagining this: on the common app I selected fall semester and it asked me if I would like to be considered for summer if I don’t get in fall or something? I might be imagining this
Didn’t happen to me
Nope
If I get deferred can I change my app to summer start?
Wait summer 2017? Why would you want to do that though
Isn’t summer 2017 before fall 2017? That doesn’t make sense?
I know! I am confused also, I know that I qualified EA for fall 2017 and I am also anxiously awaiting my decision, and I just happened to check Wolverine Access today at around 4 and saw that. Odd, I’m not too concerned about it but just wondered if anyone else saw that on their WA
lol i think that was me haha ok
U of M does have summer bridge program for freshman who take extra classes in summer prior to school year. This is typically done with students U of M admits and gives extra support before school starts.
is that the comprehensive studies program? what kind of people would they admit who need extra support?
I checked dd Wolverine access today and it has 2017 and 2018 fall selection. What does this mean?
Honestly, I know a guy admitted to Michigan with not the highest test scores who was offered a spot at Michigan if he came to summer program. Fwiw, he is doing very well at Michigan.
I think it is for those needing extra support.
@oldtown348 Where do you see it?
