UMichigan Ann Arbor EA Class of 2021 Applicants

Does stamps usually come out on Tuesday and the rest of the decisions come out on Friday?

@Ian0517 - Big difference between being excited/worked up, and throwing insults at a school because they haven’t released decisions on one’s timeframe.

It will probably be Friday, the 23rd.

Having applied to college last year, my best advice is this: don’t think about it. Just take your mind off it; watch TV, spend time with your friends or family, play video games, do homework—just do whatever you can to distract yourself and enjoy life!

Being anxious is natural and normal. I personally was always nervous the days before my college decisions. But you know what? College isn’t life—so get out there and enjoy it!!!

GOOD LUCK ALL! Hmu if you ever want to talk or want some ways to cope with the anxieties of college

@bsangs so people react how they do, what does that have to do with you? Do what the rest of us do, read it, and move on to the next post. Don’t pretend like retaliating with another insult makes you any less childish

Okay so now my question is this: How can they wait until Friday to roll out decisions if they will then be forced to release all 30k (a number often thrown around, idk if it’s accurate tho) decisions on one day? (Since they said they’ll be out before Saturday)

@BThomas310 You know, I completely understand, lightening the mood a little. You know, there are plenty of hospitals and homeless shelters where people are really sad and disappointed too, perhaps your time would be better spent helping those who actually want it

It’s not unfair for UMich to release their decisions so late and close to Christmas. I just really think we deserve a conclusive date. No more of these mind games, please!

Someone posted that they had been accepted to Penny Stamps.

People are saying that we might hear back on the 24th but the Michigan twitter page said that all EA applicants will get a decision by the end of this week.

At Michigan. Posted on FB today.

Again, this is controlled chaos on their end, and they are running behind. That is all any of this means…be patient.

lol tr0lls

are they actually running behind or are they waiting until friday to release decisions? I feel they should have made all decisions by now and should at least start releasing decisions they have already made instead of waiting until friday @HRSMom

Hey. So, like everyone else on this thread and many others, I’m impatiently waiting for my EA decision to drop. I am from Alabama, where like nobody considers moving that far away, but I’m desperate to get into UMich. My ACT is only a 29, but my UW GPA is 4.0 (perfect) and my W is 4.55 (which is the highest I’ve heard of at my school). I’m Valedictorian and have been in all preIB / IB classes since freshman year. I’m really worried that I won’t be taken seriously because I’m OOS and from a state that nobody pays much attention to, not to mention my ACT is a little low. But considering my other stats . . . do I have a chance? or at least a chance to be defered and show my INSANELY HIGH interest? Honest opinions are welcome.

@ac57019 This is not a chance me thread. Do not expect a response.

@ac57019 My opinion is that this is not a Chance Me Thread so that doesn’t belong here. Don’t want to sound rude but this isn’t a chance thread.

your act is below the 25th percentile so its a reach even for in state but your gpa might help. my school is a top 5 feeder school to umich and 30 min away from ann arbor and people were waitlisted with a 3.9 GPA and 34 ACT so idek and getting into uc berkeley but not umich which is really weird. but since not many people from alabama apply u will have less competition within your state @ac57019

The wait is agonizing

For those who are wondering how a school can wait until the 24th to release decisions, it’s pretty simple. They have a computer system that tracks the status of each application, and the website reads that. On the 24th they set the web to present the application status. They also have an automated email system that is set to read whether an admissions decision has been made, and if so, generate the email. If not, don’t. It’s not that they are creating all of the admissions decisions on the 24th, they are just releasing them.

Also, it gives everyone time to chill for a few days so their admissions dept doesn’t get deluged with phone calls.
