so tomorrow is the day?
Let’s hope. Everyone will say that the next day is the day, until it happens eventually.
I’m considered out-of-state for UM tuition purposes, but I attend a high school in Michigan, so will I be looked upon as an instate or out of state student when it comes to applications???
Is it a private school? Probably OOS but they probably know your school, which is good:)
@Taewoolee I don’t know what to think anymore.
No it’s a public school
@anxiousforuofm is this for sure? we’ve heard a lot of people say they’ve heard things from admissions. did she say when?
^^I’ve been wondering this as well. Don’t qualify for in-state tuition but I attend a public school in the state.
It came direct from my friends mom who works there. But she’s not in charge of releasing them specifically. She heard they were today but she could be confused ¯_(ツ)_/¯ so maybe they do maybe they don’t but I mean it’s something
How do you go to a public school but are OOS? Boarder town?
@anxiousforuofm I also have friends who know people in admissions and they all heard it was today too. Maybe they’re planning on releasing them at night? They’ve already broken all their previous trends so I don’t think we can go off of what we’ve heard they’ve done in the past.
I moved to michigan 2 years ago and so attended hs outside of MI which makes me out of state
They may think there’s still time today
Wow crab cakes. How long do you have to live in Michigan to get IS tuition?
if u attended hs OOS for any amt of time ir have any “OOS ties” your considered OOS. But are decisions based on where u currently attend??
3 years @HRSMom
Really? So you basically need to go all 4 years of HS in Michigan? That is a ridiculously high bar. Not fair to those who legitimately move there for work! If your parents did, you can file an app to see if they will give you IS residence based on that.
I’m not sure, but I think they look at you like other Michigan HS kids. Not sure they know that specific info from your app?
Not necessarily. It’s a pretty complicated process. If you’re 24 years or younger, basically you can be considered OS for leave the state for any reason, summer job, school, deployment etc.
If you attended a Michigan HS for at least 3 years and graduated, while your parents are paying MI taxes, you can petition for IS status.
Transcripts show that i went to a different school… funny cuz I got a HAIL scholarship which is only for IS students
I had no idea! Wow. That’s tough! So much easier in NYS. (We pay UM OOS so I never even thought about it!). Learn something new every day!
