Though I am not affiliated with UM this is sad news. Sounds like the situation is being handled with honesty, dignity, and class by all parties.

Very sad. Learn to enjoy what we have as so much in our future is unknown and, often, random.

So I was figuring this would happen and he deserves it. Glad this is happening. Interim tag is removed.

Just for clarity I think it’s important to note that the Regents are starting (another) new search for a President. I love Dom, but what’s happening here is that he’s delaying his retirement, again, while they again search for a President.

Interesting. I was reading an article that the interim tag was removed. Hmm… he’s definitely qualified. That’s for the clarification.

Yes that also happened

The coverage of the announcement has been somewhat disjointed. But basically, the Regents had to renew/re-do his contract. In doing so they dropped the interim title. At the same time, they also announced that they were starting a new search for a permanent President.

Domenico has been steadfast in saying that he doesn’t want the job, wants to retire, etc. But as he’ll have served (at least) 2 years as president I guess the Regents wanted to recognize him as such.
