Umm... bad idea for "the box"

To draw a rainbow with two men or two women underneath it. Would that be TOO much

I was also thinking about drawing LOTS of people underneath the rainbow and show how they support each other or something.

I like idea 1 but I think it might be risky.
What do YOU think?

If you’re worried about adcoms potentially thinking negatively about homosexuality or something of that sort, don’t worry about it! Rice is a very accepting place. I don’t remember exactly, but I think my box was a peace sign over a rainbow background. My essay was all about dealing with being a gay in a small, conservative town where the community was vehemently opposed to my high school Gay-Straight Alliance.

Sounds like a fine idea to me. Really, the box is just a way the admissions people let you express yourself in a way not limited to just words on a page. Your idea fits well.

wait do you know if we can glue 2D stuff on it? because apparently the Rice policy now is you can only make a 2D box, not a 3D one

i dont think so, it says it has to be scannable BUT you didnt answer my question.

Pyles - I doubt there are bad ideas for the box. Overused and cliche ideas, however, do exist. The box is just a little piece of you. If you like your idea, use it.

Don’t glue uncooked rice in the box; it’s been done sooooo many times and it gets all over the admissions office.

Just because it says “2D scannable” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put something 3D in the box. You can still scan 3D things with a 2D scanner.

^^^ okay but that’s not answer to my question

What’s the idea BEHIND your box? I don’t get it.

two men standing under a rainbow equal gay pride… duh. I’m wondering will they take offense to that.

No, they will not take offense to it.

Eravial answered that question in the first post.
