I am away from. home and sought to schedule an Uber pickup for a ride to the airport. After I input my desired day and time I received notification that my ride was scheduled, but If no one is available at that time they will notify me inside of my “pickup window.”
I can’t depend on that ! I can’t seem to cancel that scheduled ride and can’t get in touch with them.
Is this how a scheduled ride works, I have to wait to see if someone will come?!
It’s always worked perfectly for me. Never once didn’t get picked up on time.
If they don’t show. Grab a regular taxi
I’m in the MidWest. In a township. That grabbing of a taxi is a no-go.
I canceled that pick-up and negotiated a fare with a car service. Think I’ll be charged for that Uber? ( Ride is not tonight.)
Oh sorry. In misunderstood. I thought you were being picked up at the airport. Not to the airport. Sorry. Yes it might be more difficult in a Timbuktu type location.

We can’t get a taxi quickly from our house, either, so we always schedule a car service when we need to get to the airport. I wish we could use Uber!

I am terribly unfamiliar with the app, and did not want to incur a cancellation fee, so your info was just what I needed.
Strange (but this is what added to my concern), I received notification of the scheduled ride, and a checkmark appeared and I could not override the page. I could click-through the next clickable item " done," but that felt like I was agreeing to their terms, so would automatically be on the hook for some amount.
Privatebanker, taxis are such a rarity in my own town (there are none) I have been known to stop and offer rides to others.
