Transferring to either from valdosta, current military so tuition is paid for. But the monthly stipend is higher from umass. I’m going for biology and from what I’ve seen UMN is ranked higher. Which would you pick and why?
These two institutions really are not comparable. U Minnesota-Twin Cities is a flagship and has dozens of very strong majors. UMass-Boston is a satellite that has been neglected by the leaders of the UMass System. But you’re in luck, Biology is one of the better programs at UMass-Boston.
Ah that makes sense, Yea i was curious about that. Thanks
UMN is the state’s flagship for a state that consistently ranks at the top of secondary school achievement in the US, so has excellent students, facilities, research, etc.
UMass Boston is a commuter school at the bottom of the UMass system (the flagship is UMass Amherst, then UMass Lowell for science).
