Un-asked for 'upgrading' of credit card.

Have any of you received replacement credit cards for an account with a new, different number on it? In checking the new cards information, it turns out that I have been upgraded to a 'signature' card. Opened up the online account info, and see that they have already changed my account to the new number.

I don't want a new number.

Anyone have any insight as to why they would want to do this?

Oh, and it's an UNLIMITED card, which is absolutely out of the question.

Yes, I need to call them, but don't want to have anything altered right now, as we are traveling (with all the reservations on the old number).

You have the right to turn it down; do not use the new card.

It happened to me several times, I always turned it down for the same reason.
When they told me the old number will no longer be available after the expiration date, I ended that account and went with my credit union Visa

BTW is it a Cap**** One card?
