Unable to upload D's essay

Uploading MainEssay.doc - Word 2003 file.

It says "Error uploading file. Please try again. ".

Sent a message to tech support.

Have tried both Mozilla and Internet Explorer.

Any ideas?

Same problem here. Definitely fits the parameters given for document size/format. Haven’t tried browsers besides Mozilla. Deadline for one school is tomorrow.

EDIT: It uploaded the third time I tried. Not sure what made a difference, though.

It eventually worked. Server must be very busy.

I’m getting this red text when I try:

Please select a file of the following type to upload:
.doc, .xls, .rtf, .pdf, .wpd, .txt

Should I just keep sending? I’m in Mozilla Firefox/Word 2003 as well.

Is your filename lower case, without space etc. Read more about the help text, it expect filename in certain format.

It’s lower case, without spaces, and file name is <10 letters…

Try convert to .pdf before upload.
DD had trouble and saw the same red text yesterday. She converted to .pdf and name it xxxxxx.pdf, it worked. But we never know it was because she use lower case file name or converted to .pdf. She changed two things at a time.

How can I do this without paying $10 for the suggested Adobe account?

listen to this wise man.

xinyoureyes, I just asked DD. She went to the adobe website and just register and converted, she wasn’t asked to pay. No idea why you were asked to pay.

Ah. It’s cool now; I e-mailed Common App and they uploaded it for me. :]
