Unacceptance to University Of California

<p>SO, my mom often talks about those horror stories about kids getting accepted into UC’s (those are the only colleges I want to know about specifically), and then slacking off the rest of senior year, getting a few d’s and f’s. Then, they get “unaccepted” into what ever UC they enrolled in, but weren’t notified about it. So they show up at college with all their belongings and stuff, and the admin goes, “oops, sorry, you’re not on our list anymore.” and turn you back.</p>

<p>now, I know these are extremely isolated cases, and if you are unaccepted, they usually inform you of it beforehand, but does anyone know of their guidelines for “unaccepting” people?</p>

<p>-PS I do not intend to get anything below a B. Meaning, I will not willfully fail, but i did get pretty close to getting a c this semester. and its not like i had a 4.0 before this year to back me up. I had a 3.4 WEIGHTED. pretty horrible, yes.</p>

<p>They should inform you. You’re mom is just intimidating you so that you won’t slack off.</p>

<p>My friend who got into UCSD was a frequent ditcher. I was only a freshman when he was a senior so I didn’t know about his grades, but i guess UCSD found out about his habits of ditching class, and revoked admissions.</p>

<p>is it only me that read “unexpected acceptance” haha…anyway, i heard UCs are notorious for rescinding people…</p>

<p>You must maintain a ‘B’ average for your senior year. Notify the Admissions Office immediately if you earn a grade below ‘C’ in your senior year. Even one ‘D’ or ‘F’ may render you ineligible for the University of California. Notifying the Admissions Office early may enable us to offer some alternate preparation that will allow you to maintain your admission.</p>

<p>Lifted straight from the UCSB website telling me what I should do to make sure I’m not rescinded (which is kinda weird because as an ELC student, I’m already in, and UCSB is my dead last safety).</p>

<p>3.0 and above and they can’t do anything to you .</p>

<p>^ Is that a 3.0 weighted or unweighted? I am taking 5 classes with 3 being APs, so it is a major difference for me.</p>

<p>BTW, i got a flat b last semester. really cutting it close, i know, but now, not only do i procrastinate, but i have a list of things to do to schedule what i want to procrastinate on…hehe…yeah, probably a good idea to hold off on this stuff until june.</p>

<p>Hold on…you have to get at least a C in every a-g class or you don’t meet the admissions requirements. This includes your senior year. That is the rule…</p>
