Credits for some AP tests are awarded, but are “unassigned.” What does this mean?

[AP Credit - College of Letters and Science - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/APCreditLS.htm)

It means that they don’t apply to any particular class at UCLA, meaning you can’t use them to skip a class the way that AP Calc credit can get you out of intro math classes or AP Lang can get you out of English Comp 3. They just contribute to your class standing. I had 56 AP credits coming in, but the only classes I could apply any of them to were English Comp 3, the US History requirement, and Psych 10.
