Give me some feedback on my chances at admission.

Can someone help me out with a breakdown of my chances for admission?

Thanks

UNC Chapel Hill is one of the toughest for out of state admissions. I don’t think anyone is responding because your chances aren’t good with your ACT score.

Yeah, I realized that my ACT scores are just average and know that UNC’s OOS admissions are really tough. I would have had a 30 for my composite the second time I took it but my science score randomly dropped. UNC does super score though so they will have my best science score which is good.

I wish you luck but I really don’t think you will get in. Please make sure you have other schools which are more likely on your list. I would guess a 32 ACT would be the minimum. Also most kids would have at least 6 APs or full IB and higher class rank.

Keep your chin up! I don’t think you are in such bad shape. UNC superscores so you have that advantage. Also at UNC’s info session they said that they view admissions like a table with 4 legs. And each leg stands for one of these areas - transcript/test scores, EC’s, essays and letters of recommendation. They said that if one area is weak, and all of the other 3 areas are strong, you will be fine. They said a table can still stand on 3 legs. So stay positive and don’t worry yourself sick over it. I do agree to have safeties (but I would say this to anyone applying to UNC Chapel Hill). Good luck! :)

Any thoughts on my chances??
I’m an African American from Connecticut (so I’m out-of-state) and I go to a really good New England boarding school. My school doesn’t officially rank though.
GPA: 3.62 (4.0 scale)
ACT: 29
SAT: 730 Math, 660 CR, 680 Writing
SAT II: 650 Math 2C, 650 Lit
Extracurricular: Varsity Soccer and Track, Prefect in my dorm Junior year, RA in my dorm Senior year, Trumpet
I have 100+ volunteer hours at a hospital and I’m a National Achievement Outstanding Participant (idk if that’s worth much)
I know it’s UNC is tough out of state so I was just wondering. I applied Early Action if that helps at all.

Therealkid, I also think you would face uphill for unc admission. Most admitted in-state students I know of have stronger stats than yours.
