He is applying as in state.
I dont think it works anymore, i have a brother, he couldnāt create onyen around 12pm on decision day, but he got in few hours after
UNC probably has sealed all the leaks. It only tends to happen in my experience with lower ranked school for whatever reason. I guess top schools have more resources for admissions tech people.
I believe they actually changed it to you can only create after enroll? Iām not sure though
Yeah maybe. Some schools have it set up where you pay enrollment deposit directly in portal before you get access to the main tech system, but others make you set up the main tech system to pay the enrollment deposit in. NC States does it like that, but it seems UNC just does it through portal.
I hear the best indicator is to compare against previous yearās kids from your school. I see only 1 kid got rejected who has higher GPA than S24 so Iām keeping my hopes up.
With Brown rejection and USC deferral, the confidence is plummeting however. ![]()
How do you have that info? We donāt have access to specifics like that at our school.
S24 was also a passenger on the Brown rejection train so you are in good company. If UNC drops Friday that will only be the 2d school heās heard from. Most of his apps were RD. Unfortunately, it is shaping up into another tough year (boo). Itās a long wait until April . . .
Do you have Naviance? Thereās a tool inside that that breaks down school data.
Nope! The only tool Iāve seen is the NC site that lists how many kids got in from each school to each public school. So I can see 45 kids got into UNC from our HS last year. Donāt know their stats. I do know my kid is ranked higher than that (and not all kids ranked above her are applying to UNC - though most are) and has a great test score, solid essays (I think), and strong extracurriculars (I think).
All very good signs.
Thanks - itās a long week with a lot of anxiety from all the kids as we are so close to UNC and State and both decisions are expected out. I donāt know how teachers are getting them to focus!
Thatās gotta be tough. We are in state but not near triangle ⦠and lots have applied to UNC and NCSU but the kids are very quiet with their applications there. Itās like a silent tension.
Yeah, for us about 25% apply to State and 20% to UNC. Some kids have already been turned down by other schools (Duke, other ED choices) and many are waiting on UNC, UVA, and RD private school decisions. Thankful to have a bunch of acceptances in hand with some good offers, but also nervous.
Curious how many kids applied for the Global Launch program
My D applied for the regular start, but I thought that looked like a cool program for adventurous kiddos!
Why would you have a PID number if youāve not been accepted?
My son is hoping for it. Good luck to your daughter
I feel like many schools have student ID numbers before acceptance. It is very confusing keeping up with all of it. UVA even requested you set up an account with them in their SIS system upon submitting the application, I guess for financial aid viewing purposes if and when your kid gets accepted and they become available. I wonder what the schools do with all the superfluous accounts once the application season is over. What a nightmare. I believe some of the schools my D applied to had student ID numbers listed right in their portal(before acceptance).
I was thinking that they need an ID to keep track in the application system anyway, so why donāt they just be lazy and use the same ID for students after they get accepted?
