UNC Honors vs Providence College full ride

Hello all:

I attempting to determine which of my options is the best, and I would greatly appreciate your assistance. I am interested in an economics major, with the eventual goal of a career in either business or law.

I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill (In-State). They have offered me a slot in their Honors College (375/4000), as well as a spot in the Carolina Research Scholars Program (175/4000). The cost would be about $20,000 a year, including room and board.

I was also accepted to Providence College in Rhode Island with a full ride (tuition) scholarship and a slot in their Honors College (135 of about 1000). The cost of room and board would be around $10,000 per year.

Which is a better choice? Is Carolina worth the additional $40,000 overall, or should I stick with PC and save the money for grad school?

mrfrancis - where are you getting 10,000 for providence college? The number I see for room and board is 12,140. Add to that the expense of traveling back and forth to providence to get a true picture…

Highbury- A number of other, minor scholarships I have received will slightly reduce the cost.

Tough call. I think I would go to Providence IF the money is guaranteed for ALL four years
