Hi All, Looking for some advice for my S22. He is transferring to UNC Chapel Hill and didn’t get housing. He has looked around a little with no luck so I thought I’d ask here to see if I can get any advice in terms of how he might identify something.

There are Facebook groups (look for one called “UNC Subleases, Roommates, Off Campus Housing, and Apartments”) and there’s an active subreddit for UNC: Reddit - Dive into anything
Housing is not guaranteed past first year, so it’s nothing against transfers specifically. Most sophomores and juniors and seniors aren’t in dorms. Most students want to move off campus. He can look at Lark or Union apartments for a room in an apartment with a separate contract (spendy but nice in case his other roommates drop out he’s not on the hook for their part of the rent). There are eight million other apartments in Chapel Hill and Carrboro too. I just know those two do the individual contracts.

My daughter used that Facebook group to find a summer sublet. It seems like a good one without too much spam. There are other FB groups too but I liked that one the best.
