UNC or Vandy？

Hi！ I know it is kind of early to make a decision, because I am still waiting for other schools. However, Vandy’s deadline of paying deposit is May.4 when most of my schools do not release the result. Hence, I want to make a choice between these two.

My major is math and I want to work after graduation as an actuary. So career support is very important to me. Also, as I am an international student, I don’t really know how their reputation in USA and their location is. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks a lot!

If money is the same, I’d select Vandy. Both are excellent schools but Vanderbilt has a better reputation generally. Cannot speak to the math departments at both schools. Nashville is great town.

Thank you for the reply. How about working/intern opportunities? I heard that in UNC it is easier to get a job in insurance/banking/consulting…
