Does anyone here have info on the Honors College at UNCP? It’s a small school in NC that is known to not be very good academically. I have a friend who goes to this school and she really enjoys the honors college. Anyone else have any experience with this school?
Students at honors colleges tend to have the best of the school. But it’s true UNC Pembroke overall isn’t very good so an excellent student wouldn’t likely be intellectually satisfied there. However if you’re a good student for whom UNC W is a reach, then Pembroke Honors would be a good choice. I know that UNC Greensboro and UNC Charlotte have a special financial aid plan for lower income students, I don’t know whether Pembroke has it so it would be another factor to look into. If you’re a top student aiming at UNC CH, they have excellent financial aid for lower income students and are overall a great value for instate students. Run NPCs (net price calculators). Then you can look into atmosphere and think about what YOU want: what is good for a friend may not be so for you, and vice versa.
