UNC Transfer program

so this is a new transfer program @ unc…this is what they sent me.

As you continue to plan for college, we want to let you know about an exciting new program to increase opportunities for high-school students who wish to enroll in an area community college and eventually transfer to Carolina. Through the Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program (C-STEP), low- to moderate-income students are guaranteed eventual transfer admission to Carolina if they earn an appropriate associate degree and successfully complete the program at one of our partner colleges.

Funded by a grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, C-STEP is a partnership between the University and three local community colleges: Alamance Community College; Durham Technical Community College; and Wake Technical Community College.

C-STEP identifies talented low- to moderate-income students while in high school. Students accepted into the program are offered special events and advising, both at their home community college and at Carolina, while they are pursuing their associate degrees, and provides exemplary transition and support services once they have enrolled at Carolina and are pursuing their bachelor degrees. Advisors will also work with students to develop individualized financial aid plans to help keep debt at a minimum.

…

I guess they’re trying to do the UC school thing…
i’d thought id let all of the people who want to go to UNC at some pt. know a/b it. :)
