Hey everyone, I’m trying (would like to anyways) get into colleges like UNC, Wake Forest or UVA. I know they are selective, but I wanted to know if I have a somewhat decent chance. I received my SAT scores today, and I know I can improve on math, but is it possible? Also, how much do these colleges care about writing?
SAT score: 800 CR. 640 M. 620 W.
EC’s:
- PF debater, with 2 first places trophies, 1 second, 1 third, 1 fifth, and 1 eighth. I was also one of the first PF teams to be allowed to go to districts for my school. I have a level of distinction in the forensics league
- Tutor
- Part time job
- assist at a local senior citizens center
- youth attorney for the Raleigh Teen Court
- Ive been a small group leader for two years for my school
- secretary of my school’s young patriots club sophomore year, chaplain junior year
- Vice President of my school’s chess club
- I’ve been in Youth and Government for 3 years, and am now a senator
- National Honors Society
- member of my school’s ACSI student planning committee
- I do mission trips in Greece every summer
Other Awards: - school’s Honors US Constitution award.
- I also received the most prestigious award my school gives sophomore year (it’s an award for character and all that)
Grades:
Sophomore year GPA was a 3.75
I took honors debate, honors US constitution, CP Spanish, AP Bio, Honors Algebra II, Bible, Honors English, and Honors Philosophy (I took any honors or AP class available to me that year)
Juniors year I have a 4.0 GPA
I take honors debate, CP Spanish, AP World History, Honors Pre calc, Honors Chemistry, AP English, Bible, and APUSH (the only honors or AP I did not take was Spanish).
So if I were to raise my Math score, do I have a chance, and if so what should my Math score look like? Also if it helps, I am considered both Hispanic and Native American (1/2 Hispanic, 1/4 NA).
Thanks for the input!
