I’m applying Early Action to the College of Engineering at UMich and I got a 28 on the ACT. I know that that score is not very strong for that college but my counselor says that where we are from will greatly help our chances. We come from a country, farming region. Class size of 132, and not very competitive with the other schools in our region. At my school there aren’t bundles of AP classes and the works like many large schools have, but I have taken the hardest classes we offer (except for calculus, which sucks, becuase my there was a lack of participation in the class : ( )

Hard classes that my school offers that I have, or am taking:
Honors Chemistry
AP Statistics
AP Literature and Composition (online because I need a high school senior english credit and I wanted a harder class)
physics
A local community college ENG 101
" " " " ENG 102
" " " " Psychology

Other Stats:
3.94 GPA
NHS treasurer
Student Council Rep
60+ hrs of community service
4 time student of the month
State of Michigan Student of the month
ITS member
Citizen-Scholarship Award
Top Honors 4 yrs
Honor roll 4 yrs

EC’s: Plenty of them

Anyways, because of our small-time school and its situation, my counselor says that I will have a greater chance of acceptance. Is this a logical benefactor to my acceptance/deferral/denial?
