Unconventional Art Supplement

I know this is a ways ahead, but I’ve been thinking more about college lately, and what I will put on my application. My passion is film, and recently I won in a student only film festival of over 120 submitted videos the first place best picture overall award and the second place award in the short films category (didn’t completely know how that happened).

I’m not completely sure, however, if I should put it as an art supplement. It’s a comedy, and though professionally done, shows me in a less professional light. Most of the time I hear about students sending in art supplements, they’re normally recordings of All-State performances or something of that sort, and mine is a project I made independently.

Will sending in this video, which I’m sure can make the admissions people laugh and can demonstrate my writing and directing talents, significantly distinguish me as an applicant (even though Brown doesn’t have a film program)? It’s my best way of showing them my true personality.

If anybody wants to see it, PM me and I’ll send a link

Definitely send it in! Even though Brown doesn’t have a dedicated film program, I’m sure the MCM department would love to see it. It doesn’t matter whether it’s comedy, drama, or documentary. Sending in something like that as your art supplement shows Brown that you’re truly passionate about what you do, and backs up you having that award on your list.

Thank you! I really hope they will enjoy it and that it adds to my application.
