I think we have to pay the $1,495 by then and if the program is canceled before June 1 - they refund it. Our daughter for something from the school saying that. They didn’t explain what happens if it’s past June 1 but I know from talking to someone in admissions that they think they can wait until the middle of the summer before a final decision.
I talked to two other schools where my daughter is admitted and in both cases you don’t have to pay tuition and board until August. So I think she will accept another school in addition to UNC as a backup in case Global Launchbos canceled. She’s enrolled at, say, Appalachian and then go to Carolina for second semester
We are in the same boat. My son was accepted to Scotland. UNC was his #1 choice. He is also in the honors college at Tulane and the business school with a nice scholarship so wants to make sure there is a plan in place is it gets canceled. I don’t feel great about New Orleans right now either. We are in Charlotte. We have until May 1st at Tulane. We did not apply anywhere else within the UNC system so it would be community college if it gets cancelled…
We just paid the deposit for Scotland/UNC as it’s where son really wants to go, and we’ve declined all other admissions but two others (both in the UNC system). On the fence if we should accept one of those as well, or no point if they are also in the UNC system? UGH!
@csbowles I suspect our daughter will accept an offer from UNCW with a plan to go to UNC in the spring if Global Launch doesn’t work out. I haven’t talked to anyone at Carolina specifically about this but it’d be hard to see them turning down spring admittance for someone already in the state system.
We were trying to be considerate and turned down Clemson and USC Now I wish we still had them as options. We did not apply anywhere else in the UNC system. He got admitted to Univ of Miami today…looks like it is there or Tulane…ugh
Yes, our daughter got the message yesterday about being offered admission. She was thrilled - wanted to go to Ireland but she can go another time. She plans to accept today
Since the offer of admission, has anyone received an updated financial aid package for the fall semester? We need to see that before we can make a decision, but May 1 is coming fast.
