All:
My D took ACT on 10/28. We have already sent in the SAT scores for Early Action but we wanted to wait to see the ACT online arounf Nov 14 and then rush the score if ACT score is better. Otherwise, we will stick with just SAT.
We are hoping that the scores will get there before thay make a decision.

Will this be too late?

Our philosophy with Stanford was, It’s not over until the fat envelope sings. If your D’s ACT scores are better than her SAT’s, what’s the harm in sending them and calling to follow up and be sure they have replaced the SAT’s? It’s impossible to know exactly how the process works, if there are some files that are rejected early on so that no amount of new info will help. But I think it’s safe to assume that with a competitive applicant, final decisions are not not made until later in the process. Making this assumption, when new awards or relevant info appeared, D sent it, following up to be sure the new material was there in the file. There was not a barrage of stuff, which I’m sure would have been irritiating and perhaps counterproductive, but if there is new info that could be bolster the application, why not?
