Undergrad research for arts/humanities.

How difficult is it to find research groups in humanities subjects.

I assume that with sciences the research tends to be lab based. With humanities however I have no assumptions, as I do not know a thing about humanities research.

Can someone please enlighten me about what kind of humanities research opportunities are on campus?

Do such research groups pay?(as that would always be a plus)

Is it difficult to get involved in such a group.

I would assume that political science, econ, anthropology, and linguistics seem like arts fields that are easier to research. However, I would really like to know what kind research one would typically go about doing if they were in departments such as: classics, philosophy, east asian studies, italian, french, and hispanic studies.
