Do undergraduates in the College of Engineering (specifically Chemical or Environmental Engineering) get opportunities to perform research alongside Graduate students and Faculty? From what I have seen while perusing the UW website, only Graduate students and PhD candidates are afforded opportunities to engage in supervised - or independent - research.

I imagine so. It would depend what type of research was being conducted at the moment and what experience you have, though. If the type of research required graduate student knowledge, then tough luck.

A friend of mine doing Chemical Engineering really wanted to do research, so he ended up contacting ALL the professors in the department for opportunities and landed with a research project.
