Undergraduate Major with Flexibility

Hello,

My name is Neftali, class of 2012 ,and I am fairly new to this forum. I noticed it is filled with a lot of intelligent students. I am using many threads to my advantage e.g AP Bio 2011. Tons of useful information.

Topic: I am looking for an undergraduate major with lots of flexibility career selection wise. I consider myself a sociable person with a stronger lean towards sciences and English and history.I am a computer geek and quite savvy. Not a whole lot of concentration in math. It is not a hard subject, but due to my living situation forced out of many opportunities and the varying in curriculum settings, I fell a little behind but not as in failing, but could of taken more advanced math classes earlier than I did. I was thinking psychology for a undergraduate, but the program is very long with no immediate career opportunities.

I am asking for opinions of an idea for a major that is not too easy not too hard, and will produce a strong career foundation, at the same time will not be difficult to complete during graduate school.

All opinions appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Waiting on reply please.

A combination of math, computer science, economics, and statistics (major in one, minor or courses in the others) with appropriate course selection can help prepare you for job and career opportunities in computer software development, quantitative finance, and/or actuarial science.

Thank you ucbalumnus appreciate your response. I’ll look into that it sounds like a well based plan. I hope I will be able to choose the right courses into a career that I will enjoy instead of “flowing” into one.
