Did any accepted SCEArs receive a letter from Dean Shaw regarding undergraduate research and a Stanford Undergraduate Research Journal (SURJ)?</p>
<p>Yep, I got it, from what I know, they send it to students with demonstrated interest in research. nice touch, I’ve got magazines, a handwritten letter from my admission officer, SURJ. Stanford is really pulling out the stops</p>
<p>I haven’t gotten the SURJ yet, but I mentioned research pretty heavily in my application. Hmm.</p>
<p>My daughter received hers today by UPS - letter and SURJ journal. Time difference between where we live and Stanford is 16 hours.</p>

<p>do you think they send that out to all students, or only early admins? i got a likely from stanford, so i’m not technically admitted yet, but research was the reason i recieved the likely.</p>
<p>i heard from my mentor, who got his phd at stanford, that the campus is so large that he didn’t even know where its two mile long particle accelerator was until the last year of his studies. to have a campus that can hit something 2 miles long is pretty amazing!</p>
