I am an international student in australia and i have completed my 3 semesters here as a full time engineering student. due to some issues my parent couldn’t afford my fees and expenses and I had to work full time to pay for my university which is a top notch and too expensive one. with the responsibility to pay my fees I had to work full time with multiple jobs and I hardly managed to pass all subjects with not really good GPA.
Now I have got my immigration case finalized and I am suppose to move to US as a green card holder. now i want to apply to college in Texas as US transfer for petroleum engineer which is only offered by limited public colleges. now I am bit concerned that will i be able to get in a good university with my desired major (petroleum engineering) but I do have good GPA in my high school due to which i was able to get in a good university in Australia. my preference is UT Austin, Texas a&m, Texas tech university and University of Houston.
since my College GPA is not really good due to my full time job. can anyone suggest me how to get in a good university. and what are possible pathways I can take to get admission. furthermore which university will be happy to give me admission in light of such case.
