understanding the CDS fields

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I need help deciphering some fields on the common data set.
*Sections - I am assuming that this means the courses offered?
*Total apps/# admitted/Matriculants - the first two are straightforward. What does the third term mean?</p>

<p>I am sure to have more questions - as the days go by - hope I am in the right place. </p>

<p>‘Matriculants’ refers to the admitted students who chose to attend (i.e. matriculate).</p>

<p>applicants - 7822
admitted - 1847 (23.6%)
Matriculating (yeild)- 666 (36.1%)</p>

<p>does this mean that 1/3 of admitted students showed up ?</p>

<p>Yes, of the 1847 people who were accepted, 666 eventually chose Vassar.</p>
