Undiscovered music Spaceships

List music that you like that is undiscovered…

[Jim Helman - recording, composing, percussion](http://www.jimhelman.com/)

I like the cd, “Spaceships”. I’m sure it is not well known.
If you go to the above website, one of the pieces will play automatically in about 5 seconds. You don’t hear this on top 40 radio stations. Very relaxing.

Well, I see we have lots of undiscovered music fans here. :)

Four great guitarists from USC just starting out. I saw them at Sweetwater in Mill Valley, Ca. a few months ago. Many famous people have performed there.

Supremely talented. All four of them. Interesting music.

Nice.
I don’t know much about new music, but was lucky enough to see Michael Hedges several times. Some surprising stuff can be found on Youtube.

lspf72, you struck a chord. Jim Helman’s “Spaceships” isn’t on youtube, but New West Guitar Quartet is on youtube.

It probably helps to know Japanese.

dstark-- Interesting stuff!
The last time we saw M.H. was in a Mexican restaurant here on LI that has a little strolling mariachi band on Saturday nights. When they reached his table he very politely asked if he could borrow the guitar, joined in, and had a great time with them.

Very nice. MH was a great talent.

The road he died on was a road I have been on. I don’t know exactly where he died, but I got carsick on that road and puked out the window.

I know one of the guitarists in the New West Guitar Quartet. Class Act.
Jim Helman is too. :)

The Jim Helman piece on the website isn’t very original, despite the fact that it’s performed electronically. It’s pretty cliche-ridden, both melodically & harmonically. So what’s left? The soothing sound of waves.

I haven’t listened to the M. Hedges yet.

Mommusic, thanks for listening.
