Unemployment Income

I am working on my daughter’s CSS/Profile and am wondering where unemployment income is listed. When I fill out the NPC it asks for wages from line 7 of the 1040 form and my unemployment isn’t included. Anyone know the scoop?

Incomes from Unemployment Insurance will be reported on line 19 of 2013 1040 and included in your AGI.

But what she’s saying is that most NPC don’t ask for AGI, but ask for income from ‘line 7’ Usually there is another line that asks for other sources of income, but not always.

I’d run the NPC both ways, including it as income and excluding it and see if it makes a big difference. Some states in the northeast pay a lot in benefits while others pay very little.

Is she filling out CSS …AND…filling out a NPC??

Or is she just filling out the CSS and is trying to figure out where to put unemployment income?

If the OP is referring to the CSS Profile, the FAQ section of the College Board web site indicates that unemployment compensation should be reported as “other taxable income” in question E3e.
