I’m currently a freshman at a small lac. My school is more religious than I ever could have imagined and I feel like I don’t fit in. I’ve expressed this feeling towards my parents but I haven’t actually revealed that I want to transfer. I’m not sure if I am actually asking you guys something or just venting. Sorry!

To top everything off, I found out that my school blocked CC today. Their filter claims that it is for plaigarism. I am so thankful that I have Internet on my phone and can still come onto this website!

I have looked at places to transfer for my sophomore year but I feel really confused. Many of them require 30 credits which I won’t have by the end of first semester unless I count my AP credits. The process seems so different from freshman admissions.

As for the schools, I’ve looked into UGA, Auburn, and Clemson. I love that Auburn and Clemson are smaller than UGA but UGA would be cheaper for me (in state).

I don’t want to say which school but it is very close to Clemson. I knew that they had a web filter before but it must have updated or changed in the past 24 hours because I’ve been on cc since college started.

He/She is probably at SWU. Go to Tri-County Tech for a semester then transfer to Clemson. If you still want a christian school look into Anderson University.

No, it isn’t Bob Jones. I would have left in a matter of seconds if that was my university. I do agree with you that their student handbook is quite hilarious.

Wow! I really didn’t expect all of these replies. I will stick it out for the next semester though. The academics are completely fine; for me, it’s just the social aspect. It is my fault that I’m here anyway because I should have realized that the school’s environment would correlate with the social atmosphere.

Soccer teammate of my son actually got sent there; his parents did not want their child (age 19) “corrupted” by “unsupervised children” but life has a funny way of taking its own turns. He “had” to get married to the girl he met there…and a baby was born about 5 months later.

Needless to say, both were expelled.

He wanted to be a medical misisonary. The last I heard of him he was working as an orderly at a local hospital.

The parents were of this boy were about the only ones H and I didn’t get along with; the parents couldn’t get along with any one who believed or did differently than they did. We were always somewhat surprised that they let their son play travel soccer on this team. Their children were all homeschooled and they used to travel to tournaments in a huge RV bringing all of them along–they never stayed in the hotel with the rest of the team.
