Hello I am in my first year of a graduate program at Texas A&M I did my undergraduate degree at A&M and I have been thinking about dropping out essentially all semester. The problem is my graduate program has a terrible network and low resources and it will be very hard to find a job in anything decent paying when I graduate. The industry I plan to work in is currently experiencing a downturn in Texas and that compounds on the doubt that I currently have. My undergraduate degree is in a overall useless field that will make it tough to find a job in something making decent money if I drop out so I feel stuck in what I am doing just so I can find a below average job in something not even directly related to what I am learning. I feel like if I drop out now it would still make sense but if I wait another semester I might as well graduate. Opinions would be greatly appreciated just need some sort of guidance due to having no person to really talk to in my department about it.
Why didn’t you think before selecting this program. What changed within few months? May be career placement department can guide you if no one in your department can. Did you take loans for this degree for is it free of cost to you?
@TxAg18 Why did you chose a graduate program with a terrible network with low resources? Which graduate program is it specifically? What is your undergraduate degree? What industry are you considering going into? Lot’s of vague information that makes it impossible to give you a good answer.
