My daughter is transferring and is unsure of where to go - some of the schools she got inot are Lafayette, Union and Lehigh. She is looking for a school with nice kids, easy transition as a transfer, not too grueling academically (not studying engineering though). Last college experience was not so great - not a very welcoming student body and all social activities were off campus…

I don’t know enough about any of them, but I can give some scraps.

– Neighbor’s daughter transferred to Lafayette. It was extremely successful – she was instantly much happier there (vs. an out-of-state public university ~4 hours away, where she felt lost). Played a sport, joined a sorority. May have helped that she is a very preppy kid.

– Cousin is unhappy at Union and trying to transfer out. Too social, not intellectual enough. My kids call it the college for “Mean Girls” girls, but that’s based on two women they know there (one of whom already graduated). Anyway, this may mean that your daughter would like it.

For what it is worth, at our HS, which sends a lot of kids to all 3, Lehigh is regarded as the hardest drinking of the 3 by far and Union as the least preppy.
