<p>LOL, you told them that you don’t like reading to stand out? As for college, lots and lots and lots of reading is required, and I think your essay might have a negative effect on the admissions.</p>

<p>I was accepted ED engineering with an essay that started “I used to want to be an author.” It was about my discovery of the computer and how I completely changed my future by wanting to be an engineer. But it also said at the end I still read and write.</p>

<p>I guess i’ll be blunt and disagree. You dont want to stand out in a negative way and not reading is one of the worst ways you could choose stand out. Also, there really isn’t a way to defend it unless youre a gifted writer/hilarious/whatever. Unfortunately, these skills are usually accompanied by reading a lot.
If your stats are above average for admission, then I guess youll get accepted. But if you made such an essay to help your lacking stats, then good luck.</p>
