Unique Problem; taking different IB Exam

Due to a lack of resources, the IB program at our school offers only Biology in Higher Level (HL). Therefore, for the part on the Common Apps where we were supposed to fill out which courses we’re taking, I filled out that I was taking IB Biology HL as one of my courses.

However, our school lets us choose to write either the HL or Standard Level (SL) exam at the end of the year when IB exams roll around. I will be writing the SL and hence, getting the credit for the SL exam.

Will this be a problem because I filled out that I was taking the HL course, so the university might think that I will be writing and getting the credit for the HL course? Where in fact, I am taking the HL course, but writing the SL exam and getting the SL credit.

Do HL you ■■■■■.

^^ lol at borb’s comment

You’ll be fine…as long as you didn’t list Biology HL under “AP/IB Tests” in the “Standardized Tests” section of Common App.
Admissions officers understand the difference between an IB course taught by the school and an IB exam moderated by IBO.
