Between Unit 1 and Unit 3, which one is generally cleaner? Also, which one has the cleaner bathrooms?

This is somewhat off topic but if anyone knows, how do their two respective music rooms compare to each other??

Just from my own experience, bathroom cleanliness can differ even from floor to floor within a building. My floor’s bathroom is always pretty clean, but the next floor up, which is cleaned by the same crew and managed by the same RA, is ALWAYS so messy. I think cleanliness kind of depends on how clean/respectful your floormates are.

But Unit 1 bathrooms are a little different in that the layout is just a big rectangular room instead of a horseshoe shape like Unit 3. Also, the showers in Unit 1 are completely separated from one another with separate drains, but the Unit 3 showers have one drain that all showers’ water goes to… Which kind of grosses some people out, but I don’t think most people mind since you wear shoes anyway. Also, the area to change and put your clothes is better at Unit 3 in my opinion.

The music rooms in Unit 1 are decent. They look nice but aren’t completely soundproof, though. The basement area where the music rooms, mailroom, computer room etc are was built within the past decade so it looks good. I can’t really speak for Unit 3’s music rooms, since I’ve never been, but I’d assume they’d probably be just fine though they’re older.

I think Units 1 and 3 are pretty equal overall in terms of general cleanliness outside of the bathrooms.

That being said, I think Unit 3 has much nicer bathrooms. Not sure if they’re necessarily “cleaner,” (the bathroom on my floor certainly is clean, though) but I really like the layout of Unit 3’s bathrooms. As the above poster mentioned, Unit 3’s bathrooms are U-shaped, with sinks and lockers on one side of the U, showers and stalls on the other side. There are also more showers and stalls (albeit not too many more) in Unit 3’s bathrooms than in Unit 1 and 2’s. The above poster is correct in that there is not one main drain per shower, but there is certainly more than one main drain for all five showers, and on top of that each shower does have a very small “grid-ish” drain at the bottom of the faucet. I’ve never had a problem with clogged drains in Unit 3, nor have I ever really noticed the drain “arrangement,” and like I said, I think the showers are much nicer in Unit 3. There is a much larger changing area in each shower with a bench and (sometimes) hooks.

The restrooms in Units 1 and 2 feel like prisons.
