Universities at 20%-30% admit rate /w financial aid for international students

Hi all,
I’m looking for US universities around 20%-30% acceptance rate that offer a need-based financial and and meet 100% of demonstrated need for international students. Please comment the schools you know, it’s really appreciated!
Thanks!

Not sure it exists…

Grinnell and Macalester come to mind as meeting full need for international students who are accepted but they are need aware for acceptance. You’ll need tippy top grades and near-perfect test scores to have a shot at those schools. It will help if you are coming from an underrepresented country but it looks like you are currently living in Canada which will make it tough.

That category of schools does not exist; schools that met full need for internationals have acceptance rates below 10% and normally around 5-7%. Good luck.

Try Skidmore

I agree with @International95.

Let me clarify: even schools like Skidmore, with higher acceptance rates generally, have acceptance rates below 10% for international students seeking aid.

@International95 does that mean that all other things beings as required the chances of an international getting into an ivy and a 20-30% acceptance rate college are the same?
that sounds awfully tough !!!

@whitelillies I understand if a University have room for 1000 freshman, 900 are for American citizens or permanent residents and 100 or less spots are for international applicants. Id made the math this year with harvard and was like 2000 local freshman and like 180 spots for internationals if I remember well.

international including applications outside the country and graduated from Americans High schools as internationals because don’t have green card just visa.

@“International Dad” thanks, its just that I did not realize that the acceptance rate for international students is lower and different. I just assumed that all applicants are equal and it would be 20-30% acceptance in this case. wow!

Here are some quality schools with 20-30% admit rates (or higher) that give strong financial aid to international students. For most of these schools, your chances may be less than 20-30%, but anyway. The schools I list below give average aid of at least (about…) 50% of the total cost to attend:

Vassar
Oberlin
Reed
Bates
U of Richmond
Kenyon
Macalester
Lafayette
U of Miami
Trinity College
Connecticut College
Franklin & Marshall
Union
St. Olaf
Denison
Dickinson
Skidmore
Bard
Lawrence
Beloit
St. Lawrence

The article is three years old, but I imagine most (if not all) of these schools still give strong aid to internationals:

@whitelillies
For the admitted Class of 2021, 21.4 percent come from the mid-Atlantic, 18.7 percent from the South, 16.5 percent from New England, 15.7 percent from the Pacific, 15 percent from the Midwest, Central, and Mountain states, and 0.3 percent from American territories. International students constitute 11.4 percent of the admitted students.
