Universities in New England and the Northeast with good music schools?

The thread here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/community-forum-issues/644852-any-cc-stone-left-unturned.html?highlight=violadad</a> from the community subforum addresses some of the arts related and moving issues I mention above. The relevant posts are from #10 thru #16.

Berkeley School of Music…In Boston MA. Not sure how grades affect your getting in, but it’s very well known music school

Berkeley College is in New York. They offer no music based curriculum

UCalifornia at Berkeley is in California, the link to the music department is here [UC Berkeley Music Department - Degree Programs](http://music.berkeley.edu/degree.html)

Berklee College of Music [BERKLEE | Berklee College of Music](http://www.berklee.edu/) does not fall within the standard definition of a university. It is an audition based admit with few academic requirements, a true conservatory (with a non-classical focus) designed to prepare candidates for careers as professional musicians.

Unfortunately, the three don’t fall within the parameters as expressed by the op.

Point made.

Edit: Forgive my sarcasm. xAAAx, I understand you were only trying to be helpful. If nothing else, we may have scared the op away. Perhaps the thread was best left where it originally resided.
