University Guidance [where to study business management]

Deposit at Binghamton ASAP, see if there’s still space in a living-learning community.
In August, you will know whether Bath and Manchester are possible . At that time, if you make your conditions and ARE admitted to UManchester and UBath make a decision.

Btw, the reason you know of UniManchester and UniBath is because they share their name with a major city.
There are 3,500 universities in the US, no one knows them all, but people who hire know Binghamton.

But as you mentioned above, isn’t it very hard to stay in the US after graduation, so why would one consider to go there and when I am not even doing a STEM degree? Could you please provide me with some information regarding this.

Well, you applied, so i assume it’s interesting to you!
In addition, Bing is an excellent university which has apparently admitted you to its very selective SOM.
The hundreds of thousands who come want to learn about business as well as discover US culture, develop an in-depth field of interest with cutting edge approaches or tools but also the breadth of their knowledge (especially if they only studied 3 subjects for ALevels and wish they could pursue their many academic interests), get professional experience within the US business culture, enjoy college as a community, network, discover the East Coast…
Yes it’s impossible to stay there after OPT(1 year after graduation) unless you’re admitted to a Master’s degree. In fact if you say your intention isn’t to study but find a way to stay, your student visa will be denied.
However till you have results from the UK, in August when A Level results are published, you can’t be sure you’re going to the UK.
So you can deposit in the US and delay your decision till after you have your final results.
You give yourself 2 months to figure out where you’d rather go.

I understand, I did click interested on Binghamton to learn more about the university. I will also use the time as you suggested to figure things out since I don’t have to pay the entire fees until August.

Thank you so much for all advice that you have provided me with. They are truly invaluable. Please do let me know if you have any other university suggestions in the future. Once again, Thank you so much.

I’m not sure how the Concourse system works but typically you’d have to deposit something like $300 to indicate your decision to enroll and have a choice of housing. You can change your mind and withdraw (you lose your deposit but if you have a better choice it’s usually worth it if you can afford it.).

Good luck to you!

I have clicked on “Interested” but never got any email regarding depositing $300 I believe. But that may differ from uni to uni I guess. I have clicked on “Interested” for now, so I think I should wait for any emails that may come.

Thank you so much once again for your time and help.

I think it’s important to contact Binghamton now to to make sure you can still attend. You need to make an actual payment before you are guaranteed to attend for Fall 2024.

Telling them that you are interested is different from actually accepting the offer. You can back out later, and lose your deposit, if you end up choosing UK or Europe. What you can’t do is go to Binghamton if you don’t make the payment and complete the other steps to have housing, etc.

Hi, I would be grateful if you could provide me with your thoughts on which country between UK and Aus has better job opportunities and career prospects for international students after graduation. As this question would really affect my choice on UCAS since I have make them this week.

If Aus has better opportunities than the UK, then I would choose Manchester and Bath as even if I got into Lancaster I would probably to go UNSW then. My counsellors’s experience with Australia says that if you are above the grade point requirements then its highly likely than one would get in, and I am 3 point above the requirement. So taking the risk with Manchester and Bath, could be worth it.

Moreover, I believe that Germany is one of the countries with very good opportunities currently, and as you many have seen before, I have an offer from Lancaster University Leipzig, would you say that, the branch in Leipzig would be a good choice over the main branch in the UK?

Lastly, I am also currently in the process of applying to Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germay, could I get your thoughts about this university as well? I really appreciate your time regarding this matter.

I understand, I will send them an email right away.

Right now, you’re not making a choice, you’re just ensuring that you can choose in August.

Deposit at SUNY Binghamton and reserve housing - the deadline was Saturday so you need to hurry.

Firm Manchester and Bath, keeping your fingers crossed for August.

I agree UNSW is likely to be a safety for you in case Melbourne doesn’t work out. However you wouldn’t be starting in the Fall but January, right?

Between now and August, study each possibility: email each department, ask to be put in touch with current students; email the international student association, see whether they have anyone from Thailand or India who can give you their perspective; think of the type of degree you want (specialized or flexible, 3 or 4 years…); US networking&business culture vs.Australian networking&business culture vs. British networking&business culture; support&resources for undergraduates specifically (Bing is likely to win there); weather (Australia is likely to win therr unless you like rain or snow)…
etc.

I understand, for Aus, UNSW allows you to start in this coming Sep as well. So I have applied for that time. I will send an email to SUNY Binghamton regarding the application process and housing. Also, do you have any idea about the Bachelor programs at IE Business School in Spain? I was applying there but haven’t completed the application since I became very unsure about the university.

Could you also provide me with some ideas about the job opportunities just between the UK and AUS as like mentioned above I my family isn’t as interested in sending me to the US. However, I am having conversations with them about SUNY Binghamton at the moment.

Thank you so much for your advice.

More specifically between Lancaster University and UNSW. As I am pursuing a Bachelor in Business Management, after graduation from both of these universities which university would you say would provide me with better job opportunities and career prospects.

The reason, for me of asking this is because, if Lancaster University will give me better and more opportunities than UNSW then I would make Manchester my firm and Lancaster my safety and choose Lancaster over UNSW if I don’t meet the requirements for U Manchester.

For career prospects with a Bachelors, based on the various surveys and ratings, Bath does even better than Manchester, and Lancaster is roughly the same as Manchester but is less strong academically etc.
So I would keep Bath and Manchester for the UK.
I can’t tell you anything about Australia’s political&economic environment.

Wrt the situation in the UK, there are elections July 4, but will the new government be able to right the ship that was thoroughly wrecked by Brexit then disastrous choices (Look up “PPE scandal”, “Liz Truss tenure”, “Royal mail”, “drinking water scandal”, “victorian diseases return” “crumbling schools”) to the point the current party is going to suffer a generational wipe out… absolutely NO ONE can tell how much (or whether) things will improve or not by 2027. University graduates are doing okay jobs-wise, their issues tend to be lack of housing and enormous mandatory loans. Since I assume you won’t have loans, you should be better off than most. Your opportunities at all your choices will also depend on your results (you will need to be a top student, certainly top 30%) and whether you can secure an internship.

The US economy is currently the most dynamic it’s been in about 60 years. The UK economy is in the doldrums. The European economy is doing okay.
No one can tell you what it’s going to be 3 or 4 years from now.

Perhaps follow the June 9 European election results then the July 4 British elections though for that one the only suspense is the size of the tory wipeout and, marginally, Labour vs SNP in Scotland. (I dont think Australia has elections before 2025 and the US of course is november 2024.)

I just got my offer from UNSW today. So I think like you said, I will choose Manchester and Bath in the UK and keep UNSW as well since the requirements there are lower.

Also, I thought that overall Manchester was better than Bath for Business Management studies. I’ve heard some really good thoughts about the Alliance Business School of Manchester.
