<p>I did my PhD there. One of the UKs oldest universities. Good reputation, good teaching, good facilities. Night life is good, although the city is expensive. Due to it being fairly far north, winter is long, dark and cold. Some reasonable skiing close by, if he has a car. Summer has long, cool, clear days. Many student sports clubs, and a major new rennovation recently completed on sports facilities.</p>
