We got a response back on that, and the other options aren’t ideal.
“While not ideal I can provide a self guided tour of campus. Also JOYRIDE (not affiliated with UA) also provides tours of campus-with a cost associated with it. I can also schedule meetings with Campus Partners without the Campus Tour. this is an In Depth Visit”
Apparently the ATD have 700 students attending, but only @25 on the waitlist. Not sure what the difference is from 700 to 725, my guessing it’s lunch options. Also I doubt you can just show up, as other schools we’ve had to show a QR code.
What types of scholarships in the email received today would stack on top of the NMF scholarship and which ones are replaced? Would a $500/semester Provost Academic Excellence Scholarship and a $250/semester book store scholarship stack on top of the NMF scholarship?
I found it interesting that like everyone else’s in this thread that the scholarship listed was the one in the original admittance letter. I know my child applied for additional scholarships thru the school. I would have thought this notification was of any additional scholarships. Unless there are some here that have learned they received additional ones. Oh well, any money is better than no money!
Most scholarships go away when the NMF package is awarded to your student, but there are a few scholarships that do stack with the NMF package. The book store scholarship is part of the NMF package.
Ok. I was hoping the book store would stack so I’d have more but oh well. Could the provost academic scholarship stack to make my stipend better? What I get now doesn’t quite cover the meal plan and room upgrades if they don’t pay for a suite, so I’d love if they’d stack
Do you have the NMF package? If so, the package covers the the largest room type in each building (i.e. the scholarship will cover a 4-bedroom suite, but you would have to pay the difference between the 2 and 4 person suite if you wanted to 2-bedroom).
National Recognition Program. Was hoping for competitive achievement scholarship but only got presidential auto merit. Guidance counselor will get earful for not forwarding transcript for 2 months. Not his top choice but this scholarship could have changed his mind.
this was us last year. hoping for a few more nibbles than what was auto-given through merit. One kid there; 2023 is not! but all is good.
there’s a long thread on the FB bama parents page about the kids who did not receive any competitive merit today; very disappointed. Someone said (was it here? or there?) that this was the largest applying class yet. and because of that, i wouldnt be surprised if the stakes went up next year for scholarships. (in 2017 i think** it was a 33ACT for full tuition; moved up from a 32 in 2016. Then they dropped it down to a 32, but not full tuition. I have 4 kids; i’ve been watching this way too long!!)
Nothinng changed for us. Is that everything (merit) bama has to offer you or is there anything still to come ? Applied for some Alumni scholarship and did not hear anything afterwards. Not sure whether that is awarded or still being processed.
