University of Baghdad decisions

I just checked online and I was denied admission… :frowning: (I applied early action)

I was really hoping my minority status (Shiite) would help. Oh well, I guess its off to my safety, u-afg

And before you think about putting down an entire nation…i think you should consider how much people down there are suffering, and how much more you all are taking your good positions for granted. You’re so damn fortunate and all you can do is bash on poor people that don’t know what’s going on, who put their lives at risk everyday by just walking across the street, and pray constantly to have even a fraction of what you all have…GROW UP

and Shiites the majority down there ace

and why don’t any of you all enlist? then you can say…i lived that way for a while…i have a right to say what i do…because right now this thread is full of garbage that i doubt any of you all can back up with a credible political argument…all it is is a bunch of arrogant people getting in a big group and declaring how much they think they’re better than everyone else.

Are you from the area nahrafsfa?

actually i was born in charlottesville and raised in southwest virginia thank you very much
I just think it’s immature that ppl take everything they have for granted

needless to say none of my lineage goes back in to iraq/afghanistan/middle east anyways

I actually lived in the Middle East for six years, so I am pretty well-versed in the atrocities that occur on a daily-basis. Moreover, in regard to coherent political argument, you do not want to start me on the political manifestation of deontological ethics and its implications in the context of forced democratization. Wait, did you assume that all of us were incompetent in such argument?

Someone here needs to grow up. The warning ends here.

yeah, I mixed it up with pakistan. it is the reverse there.

What is the deal with you nahra, a couple posts ago you were cool. Besides its all in fun, surely you dont think I or others are out to demeen iraqis.

I don’t think anyone on here was “taking what they have for granted”. Besides Nahrafsfa…you took part in this conversation and contributed to the “Garbage” just like everyone else did.

deontological ethics states that people shouldn’t be used as a means, but rather as ends in themselves, and i think that the situation in Iraq has just gone too far. And I need to grow up? Look at 90% of the posts in this thread…all are ASSUMPTIONS…American flags and matches? Destructive Chemistry? You all are stereotyping every Iraqi to be an anti-American terrorist when a large majority of them embrace freedom, and just want their lives to be better

No it’s just a very sensitive subject for me…I know several people deployed/were deployed in Iraq and they keep coming back and telling me how it is and it’s very heartbreaking to know that people live like that, and that people in the US, that have so much, will resort to such jokes.

Such a paltry explanation; trust me, the ethical framework is much more detailed than the reduction you provided; however, I do applaud you for reciting but one line from the Groundwork.

Yes, you just made the generalization that most of us could not form a coherent political argument and were spoiled. Both could not be more incorrent.

Shall I lump your posts in that 90%?

But Nah, you totally contibuted to the conversation and made jokes! You took a stand against american government more so than anyone, so how does that make YOU any better, and less immature than us?? Pick a side. There’s an old saying about the pot calling the kettle black…

and all i did was come along with another political view…:)…i voted for Kerry by the way :-P

and i know there’s alot more behind deontology…i just don’t feel like going deep in to ethics at this very point…and plus…i’m a utilitarian

hmm, I’m still wondering what got you so fired up about this issue, while everyone else was rather lighthearted.

Your name does look a bit middle-eastern, come to think of it…

I’m paki btw

Nahrafsfa, I apologize for my rudeness in this matter.

yeah i apologize if i got a little bit defensive…i’m usually laid back in most matters, but when it comes to politics i’m fierce (wanna be a U.S. Senator when i grow up)

As am I in regard to Social/Political/Ethical philosophy. I am Indian, by the way.
