because i go to ucsb…so i know how much is demanded of me at a uc.

and also, i want to go to law school, so it doesnt matter where i go.
on the contrary, it would be better to go to uci because ucla is overrepresented in law schools, and law schools want academic diversity.

Santa Bar: It doesn’t hurt or help you not to go to UCLA. Going to UCI will not hurt you in anyway, all that matters is grades + LSAT, but at the same time coming from UCLA won’t hurt you because they are “over represented”

Verdet, they take your LSAT roughly 60% (cept for Berk) and GPA 30% and EC/PS/Recs 10%…your undergrad makes NO difference. This coming from someone who’s bro is at law school and who’s being looking to attend, and researching law schools, for over two years. See dubyax3 dot lawschooldiscussion dot org and you can search through threads to see this topic raised.

you are oh so very true. i know ppl here from ucsb that go to berkeley or stanford.

so my theory: work less at uci, get good grades, kick ass on my lsat, and arrive at the same law school as a pesky overworked cal/ucla undergrad.

And I’m totally not sure. Both UCLA and Berkeley have strong Political Science programs, and both schools have great recognition. UCLA is in a beautiful area, but Berkeley is verrrry close to home. It’s tough because a lot of people in my family are expecting me to go to Berkeley automatically if I get in, without even considering others.

diamond i usely dont chime in to personal issues, but this one hits close to home. I went to a school cuz my parents wanted me to, I HATED it, dropped out after about 4 months…Go where you want, cuz it’s gonna be u who succeeds/fails…
