University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

Haas…bcuz it’s a top 10 business school and is a “target” school for all the big NYC banking firms. UCLA gets many of them as well, but it’s deff not HAAS.

Don’t take SB’s advice too literally; different municipalities have different guidelines, different cops have different attitudes on different days. Plus, you’d be surprised how many cops have no idea what an eighth looks like.

I got into UCLA today. Did any other transfer student get in or denied today?

is it common for people to get rejected from UCLA but accepted at Cal?

WHAT!? UCLA decisions are out!?!?

mojo: Diamond got in w/o being able to see FA…from my understanding she submitted it on time.

yeah…thats why i said SOME counties. but that refers to the majority of cali counties.

and cops should know what an 1/8 is. so to be safe, you should carry around half an 1/8 (not a sixteenth, no one calls it that)

oh fo sho i submitted it on march 1st

but haas is mainly known for their grad… so if i or someone else definitely plans on going to biz or law school afterwards, how should the decision be made… of course environment, courses, etc will be taken into consideration, but still

a ho… a ho fooooo shoooo

What do you want to go into? In looking at ibanking they recruit right out of undergrad (cuz u dont need to be a grad) and one of their targets is haas. I don’t know how this shakes out to everything, but ibanking will get you into a top level mba program if you want…I think haas and ucla’s programs is like saying, would you rather go to Stanford or Notre Dame? Both are top notch programs, but one is clearly better than the other…

uhhh are you okay lax?

have you seen 40 yr old virgin? haha…

If the people going into Haas or Econ at UCLA wanted to go for grads, does going to that particular school for undergrads hurt your chances during grads?

Lets say you go to HAAS now, and then a couple years you apply there for an MBA. Do you think getting an undergrad engineering major from berk and then applying for grads MBA at berk would hurt your chances at all?

tvaldivi: i got into comm from another uc 3.87-9 been fluctuating this year

YES but all I remember of it is when he’s describing what feeling up a girl feels like (water balloons or sand bags or something) and when he screams “Kelly Clarkson”

niggit, mba is mostly about work experience. The better the work experience you have, the better program you can get into. Also, unlike law schools, mba’s do take into account your UG institution. The “few and coveted” jobs, such as ibanking, recruit at a small list of schools (ivies, mit, caltech, stanford, berk, the like) and it is generally accepted that if you work as an analyst in a banking firm for two years you can either A) Go get an mba at a top 10 school, or B) be offered an associates position right away (w/o an mba). Also, the UG engineering degree at Berk opens many doors at ibanking firms. Coming from top school such as berk, you don’t NEED to be a finance major (it helps). That said, a 3.7+ will get you an interview at any bulge bracket bank from berk, and lately the big banks have had a hard on for engineering majors (cuz it’s hard as hell to get a 3.7+ in engineering). Also, banking deals heavily with math + quantitative skills…something an engineer deff has.

curious…
any poli sci rejects?

or…

people that can see fin aid got rejected?

Lets say you go to HAAS now, and then a couple years you apply there for an MBA.

your chances of getting into haas as a grad school are **** poor

Do you think getting an undergrad engineering major from berk and then applying for grads MBA at berk would hurt your chances at all?

they would help your chances instead of hurt them

zemookmook knows nothing of what he is talkin about haha. B-school is 75% WE…hence why almost nobody goes right from UG –> B-school. If you go to HAAS now, get out and get an ibanking gig (sorry I keep using this, but it’s really the only thing I feel very educated about), you will most certainly be accepted to Berk grad.
