Lax, I gotta second the sports. UCLA’s sports history is very impressive. Wooden, Abdul-Jabbar, Walton, Jackie Robinson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Baron Davis, and next year will be the first year for Kevin Love, national HS B-ball player of the year. Not to mention two straight trips to the Final Four and upsetting USC in football.

Ya. I think it’d be great to watch some Cal football (IMO, better then UCLA), but when you factor in the basketball at UCLA, giving you two prime sports seasons (Football + Basketball) whereas at Cal you only get one (Football) it’s alot easier to pick haha. I’m a sports nut as it is, put me drunk, in Paulie Pavillion, and I’m goin wild…

to bobbak:
That’s a good idea. Somebody who has a UCLA email should creat it. ^___^
I am still waiting on Cal.

yeah, im all about the sports aspect!! that’s why im kinda leanin toward ucla as well. plus, it just seems like people are much more chill, and you really cant beat westwood.

ughhhhhhh i’m dying here!! anyone who applied to regents get rejected? my decision is still pending -_-

applied for biz/econ

someone save me?!

btw, congrats all those who are in!!

dkdunton, westwood has diddy riese!! hahah

I paid 200 bucks to go down to UCLA for the Arizona/LA bball game earlier this year, worth it.

then I got to see the Bruins play again cause we got the first round of the tourney here in Sac this year :D

that being said, I cant f-ing wait to go to the games officially as a bruin

man, wth happened to UC idols? you guys killed it!

I typed this up for another thread… but I thought this would be useful for others to read. Most of us already know this but some don’t:

TAP certification means you meet the standards for the TAP program at your community college.

TAP stands for Transfer Alliance Program, and it is a program that gives “Priority consideration for admission to UCLA” to students who are TAP certified. It does not gaurantee admission, but it roughly doubles your chances. Last year at City College of San francisco over 20 students were TAP certified, and only one was rejected from UCLA.

The TAP program is closely linked with the Honors program at the community college. Different schools have different requirements, but the minimum requirement for TAP certification is 15 semester units of honors courses completed prior to admission to UCLA. For example, I am currently finishing up some of my honors courses.

TAP certification forms are signed by the honors coordinator at your community college, by a transfer counselor, and by you, the student. The TAP form is sent to UCLA in February (if applying for Fall)

I have been to a Cal vs Stanford game and a UCLA vs USC game. Let me tell you there is NOTHING that compares to a UCLA USC game. What a blast. As a student, it will be even better!

Ya I bet haha…

4.0, regents invitee, african american, santa monica college transfer, work for UCLA. Got Rejected. Intended major was BizEcon. Missing Calc for pre-req’s.
I’m bout to send my appeal. Dad is in Iraq, mom in Germany. I’ve been in the US since february 2006 I just now finally made some friends at my job(UCLA), really am not trying to move.

until i left for college, we’d go to stanford games, and the crowd would always get craziest when they played sc. so yeah, i cant even imagine what an sc v. ucla game would be like. that’s the one thing my current school is lacking…sure we’re division 1, but what the hell is the patriot league??? lol

mxdprodigy, wow that makes me scared. did you take calc 1 or not at all? good luck with your appeal!!

Didn’t take any Calc. I also took the wrong math branch and basically took college algebra. But I’ll try to find a way. maybe taking at least pre-calc over the summer plus something else and whining via appeals will help.

my friend was a regents invitee but got rejected
i am a regents invitee and was accepted

Yeah. Im still waithing to hear from UCSD and UCI. Is that strange? Seems like everyone has heard already? anybody hear of rejections from UCSD? I heard they save rejections for the final weekend. Figures.

anyone know how good of a selection of TV channels are available in the dorms in LA?
I dont want to miss any of my 49ers games haha…

holy crap… I didn’t even think about missing the niner games! that’s gonna be a factor in whether I choose berkeley or ucla =p

Niners…what a joke.

Go Pats!!

Go Bolts!!! Darn Pats!
