University of Central Arkansas, anyone?

Looks like University of Central Arkansas would be a free full ride for me. Any opinions on this school? Seems it’s ranked very low even regionally.

How’s the campus vibe, town location, safety, academic rigor (Business school), student body, social scene, professional opportunities, etc.?

I know of one student who goes there. Academic rigor and the pursuit of learning were not exactly things this student was known for.

HOWEVER, the question for you would be is there an honors college where you could find some like minded peers?

@carachel2, yes there’s an Honors College (Schedler) where admitted students get a full ride with study abroad grants and special housing.

I’m wondering if every university’s honors college would have the kind of rigor desired?

If considering it hypothetically, why would somebody chose a full ride at UCA honors college than a okay financial aid or maybe little gapped by a nationally ranked school (say, UArkansas or similar) for this regionally ranked one?

Conway is a boring place, frankly. If you wanted to have fun you would probably have to travel south to Little Rock or north to Fayetteville to actually get an experience. It is a safe town, so you won’t have a problem there. UCA is typically associated with those who don’t take school as seriously as those who go to Fayetteville, so academic rigor is very much on the low side. I guess the reason people choose a college like UCA over a college like Fayetteville is universal: money. Lots of people would rather not pay for college than pay at all.
