University of Delaware Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

Unlikely. Be patient. For each kid that loses interest, there are plenty more that really want to go to UD. (But please keep us posted.) What major is your student pursuing? It’s an amazing school.

We have the same message on my son’s portal…good luck to everyone and Happy Holidays

My son’s portal made the yellow box change on Monday everyone says comes the week you get a decision. And then it changed back and we have the Jan 31 message. This is the only EA decision he is still waiting for and it still seems to be top of list.

All I can say is be patient. Commitment day is May 1. It may be worth the wait. In 2019, my kid got deferred in November, UD wanted mid year grades and we did not hear until March 1 that he was accepted. (Send a LOCI — letter of continued interest.)

I’m an optimist🤪. She is poli sci. Was accepted way back in Nov so it feels like forever, but I appreciate the sheer number of apps is higher than ever.

Same same. Holding breath.

Colleges do what the software tells them to do. That’s the way it is in 2023. It’s not going to be perfect and it will not always make sense but it is what it is. My D24 has a bunch of other “peer” schools as options already so maybe it’s not meant to be. Our high school is an hour from UDel in PA and puts a lot of kids there every year so I’m sure the algo has identified her as unlikely to attend or something. All good, kids end up where they belong. Good luck everyone, Merry Christmas.

D24 applied early October for public policy, application complete 10/31. 3.96/4.0 UW, 36 ACT, solid leadership and ECs. Hasn’t received a decision yet. Called last week and left a message for her admissions rep to make sure all ok with her app, he never called back. Sigh. UD started out near the top of her list; as she’s getting accepted to other schools and receiving Honors invites and money, her interest in UD is starting to slip. :pensive:

Our list has major overlap and similar merit, Nicely done!

No word on honors yet, merit should come in next few weeks and honors is supposed to come by Feb.

Look like January merit

Just curious was this an email that came to your student? If so, was it received today?

Yes and yes

Both ny husband and I also received this enail today

we live a mile from UD campus. A couple weeks age they finally gave decisions to about half my son’s class. No rhyme or reason. Not by name, major, or anything else we can think of. But we thought surely be Christmas break there would be something… We’ve been hearing oos get their decisions for months. Way to take care of your in state students, UD! Leave them hanging until January. We realize they want the $$$ OOS kids bring but sheesh, throw us a bone here. In past years, my kids always heard in mid November. This year… crickets. And this isn’t merit or honors… This is just admissions decisions. Come on UD, get it together!
