It was one brief statement and I believe it was made toward the beginning of the session.
Not my information, but in case you missed it, this was posted by a parent on the UD 2028 FB page re: last nights financial aid webinar.
For anyone who missed the UD virtual session that just ended, they recorded it & they said theyâll be posting it somewhere. But the important take aways:
-Merit offers wonât be out until mid-March
-Full financial aid offers will be out mid-April (as long as they receive the info from FAFSA by early March)
-As of right now, thereâs no change to decision day of May 1st but that it is something thatâs being discussed because of the delays.
-They talked about the steps to take after you full commit and pay the $500 deposit (everything will be on the UD student portal)
-The accepted student day registration will open this Friday for the 3 dates (2/24, 3/9, 4/13). You donât have to have already committed to attend these
-The net price calculator on the website will be up mid-February
-merit scholarships are based on your junior year academic achievements so sending a senior year mid-year transcript wonât help merit offers
-Your student will receive an email when their FAFSA information has been sent to UD.
-Need based grants are based off the formula:
COA - SAI = Financial Need (after merit offers are applied)
New student orientation (NSO) will happen mid June and July and registration will begin in the spring.
Residence hall check-in - Aug 23-24
Will get specific check in time
Twilight Induction Ceremony - Aug 24-26
Classes Start - Aug 27
Whatâs induction ceremony and would parents attend?
Itâs really nice, I believe the president speaks to the new class at a night time candlelight ceremony, I donât think parents attend but itâs live streamed (I didnât see parents but who knows).
Thanks! Holding a hotel for move in but figured we would leave on 24th or 25th
A shining start | UDaily this is when it all starts, I think most parents leave beforehand.
This is great for those who couldnât see it (although they said they will post the webinar on the portal at some point).
HOWEVER, there is a slight error hereâŠ
Merit is based on 9th through 11th grade performance. Not just 11th grade. This was confirmed by admissions.
I am still kind of hopeful merit May come out sooner than mid march. Mainly because financial aid office told me literally same day they expected to start sending out mid Feb. Iâm hoping they said mid March to manage expectations in case timeline slips.
When I called this morning they also told me mid Feb but when I referenced the webinar she went to check and came back saying it is now mid March.
Weird!
I hope youâre right and I think itâs a real possibility. At some point, the portal was saying mid-March for honors decisions and we know those have started to roll out already, so maybe it will be a similar situation for merit.
Letter was updated now for our student - good luck!
Our kiddo got in!
Too bad abt merit not coming out till March, itâs difficult to make decisions and plan travel, visit days etcâŠoh wellâŠit is what it is. Freshman yr Covid shut down and now this, wishing our 2024HS & 2028 college grads very best.
Fighting Blue Hens on TV against the W&M Tribe right now (hoops). Has extra meaning in our houseâŠ
UDel is ahead which is accurate
Anyone see link for Admitted Day registration? I thought it was supposed to open today but not sure if buried in site somewhere
donât see it either and checked kidâs email as well.
I cannot see it yet. I also checked the Blue Hen Family Hub but nothing yet.
In other newsâŠthere is a blue hen family hub you can sign up for news. The link is buried in one of the emails
are you getting emails as a parent? I am not, but maybe since she hasnât committed yet?
