University of Denver Early Action / Early Decision Class of 2030 Official Thread

This is the official thread for those applying EA/ED to University of Denver.

List your unweighted GPA, any SAT /ACT scores, and ECs. What majors are you going into?
Ask your questions, the CC community is here to help!

I wonder when EA will be notified this year. In the CDS, it says by 12/15 for ED and by 1/15 for EA, but in last year’s C/C chat looks like EA was notified 12/16. Hoping it is a closer notification date to last year than what they listed in their CDS :crossed_fingers: .

Do you live in state or OOS? What are your thoughts on the location and the vibe of the campus? I know it is not your child’s major, but do you have insights on the business school?

We are OOS (CA). S24 shocked us by choosing DU over several UCs and Boulder. Frankly DU wasn’t even on my radar and we stumbled upon it accidentally while visiting Boulder. But S24 fell in love with DU. He did get considerable merit, making it one of our cheaper options.

He is absolutely thriving! The thing that most impresses me is the professors and quality of teaching. He has had incredible support from the faculty, and the small class sizes have been great for getting to know professors and make friends. Whenever he has struggled in tough classes, professors have gone above and beyond to help. A couple even held zoom sessions with him on the weekend for test prep.

The business school is DU’s strength and they have a lot of opportunities for business majors - way more than CS students even. The students are very very friendly and my shy introvert kid has found his people and is always doing things on and off campus. It is a gorgeous campus and Denver of course offers lots of fun things to do.

Another strength is support for students with disabilities. Their LEP program is consistently ranked one of the best in the country.

The lack of diversity is a valid concern, but I do love the geographical diversity of the campus with over 70% of students being OOS.

Thank you! That was very helpful. My son also applied to CU Boulder. We are from the North East and he is attracted to Colorado’s outdoor adventuring vibe. We haven’t yet visited either school. He’s been accepted into DU and still waiting on Boulder. I thought that DU would be a better fit for him for all the reasons you wrote as pluses for DU.
